3 Carrots
4 sticksCelery

600 gSpaghetti
8 clovesGarlic
15 gBasil
2 tbspItalian seasoning
2 Bay leaves
4 tbspOlive oil
1600 gChopped tomatoes
6 tbspTomato paste
250 mlRed wine
4 tbspRed wine vinegar
1 tbspSugar
  1. Chop the bacon, onions, carrots, celery, garlic, mushrooms, and tomatoes to prep and set aside. Heat the oil in a large pan and fry the bacon and mince in batches until browned. Add to the slow cooker.
  2. Add the chopped ingredients and the tomato purée, herbs, wine, vinegar, sugar and seasoning to the slow cooker. Cover and cook on Low for 6-8 hours, then uncover, turn to high and cook for another hour until thick and saucy. During the last 30 minutes, boil some water and cook the pasta.
  3. Serve over spaghetti and top with parmesan and basil leaves.
